![]() ![]() That's when I realised I had unknowingly gritted my teeth through the entirety of the match some 30 minutes. After I won that match I noticed that both my head and jaw ached. You had to keep track of hundreds of individual units constantly locked in a frontline push with reinforcements trickling in and constant harassment with fliers or fastmovers. It was a constant deluge of micro- and macromanagement. It reminds me of a time when I was playing SC2 and I was in my qualifying-game for the rank of platinum. Where intense micro and macro is relieved with a period of quiet time. In more traditional RTS you have an ebb and flow-system. Exhaustion was what killed my interested in StarCraft 2. I want to preface by saying that I love strategy games of all sorts but especially RTS.īut what you said about exhaustion really hit the head of the nail. From the way it's presented in the video, that definitely was another serious blow to SLS' finances. I also did not know, or forgot about their attempt at esport. From my perspective, it was a terrible choice that made me lose all faith I had in Stunlock's decision-making, and I remember many people on the game's subreddit feeling in a similar way. But a separate client that you have to pay for, and that causes development for what is essentially the main game mode to be put on hold? I was shocked. I honestly could not wrap my head around that - surely if the game was struggling to retain players putting its development on hold for a few months would be the killing blow? I even thought they had the right idea with BR, as the video says the game needed more content that was slower in pace to prevent burnout, kind of like LoL has the ARAM mode. I cannot speak from a business perspective of course, but as someone who loved playing Battlerite both on my own and with my friends, and has spent 370 hrs on it, the thing that made me finally stop playing it was the decision to pause all development on Arena to focus on the BR client. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
